Cost Specialist (ExPat - Lobito, Angola)
KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa. KBR’s Project
Management Team is responsible for the overall management of the Owner’s EPC Contractor’s contract.
This position is located in Lobito, Angola.
Responsible for of cost control functions including trending, analysis, forecasting, change control, cash flow and reporting. Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Ensures the development and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling. Coordinates with procurement and material mangers as well as engineering work group leads pertaining to essential items of supply. Provides priorities for projects to guarantee completion. Contributes to forecasts and disbursements by performing schedule analysis. Under broad direction, is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within the project control’s function. Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to managers or professional staff. Uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems. Uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices. May direct resources prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members. Participates in the development of project controls strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures in estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling. Ability to deliver effective presentations and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required
- Minimum fourteen (14) years of experience on EPC Projects
- Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Business awareness and acumen for effective forecasting: knowledge of project deliverables, time, and resources.
- Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports
- Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis
