Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a motivated, talented Mid-Level Systems Engineer (Customer Engineering) to join the H-47 Chinook team located in Ridley Park, PA reporting to the Chinook Domestic Program Chief Engineer.
The Domestic Chief Engineer has technical responsibility for CH-47F Block I, CH-47F Block II, MH-47G Block II, and Foreign Military Sale Chinook Helicopters. In this position you will work closely with engineering, program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, and/or customers to execute the program.
Boeing is a leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space, and security systems. The Boeing Vertical Lift Philadelphia facility (Ridley Park, PA) is situated along the Delaware River approximately 7 miles southwest of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 2 miles from the Philadelphia (PHL) international airport and minutes from both New Jersey and Delaware. This facility is home to the H-47 Chinook Helicopter and the V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor. These aircraft are designed, manufactured, and tested at the Philadelphia site and are delivered to both US military and international customers. There are approximately 5,000 people employed at this Boeing site.

Position Responsibilities:
Work with our internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needs
Support the development of customer proposals
Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief Engineer
Support the creation and management of Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals
Manage deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learned
Supports baseline management of programs
Develop, review, analyze and maintain cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines using earned value management practices (such as Estimates at Completion), support variance analyses, and communicates cost and/or schedule trends
Brief customers and leadership on all technical aspects of the program
Standardize, develop, and document processes
Support customer obsolescence roadmaps and resolution
Makes use of and applies general knowledge of various engineering disciplines to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues
Domestic and/or international travel as required to support program execution
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5 or more years' related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience (Level 3)
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Experience with proposal development and contracting negotiations
Experience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects
Experience in engineering project planning or project management
Experience working directly with government customers
Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
Experience collaborating across functions and organizations
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450
