Summary of Position
JobsOhio is seeking a Communications Manager, Executive Communications to support the President & CEO and other executive functions. This role will lead executive speechwriting, talking points, social media, podcast development, and storytelling to elevate the voice and visibility of JobsOhio leadership. The ideal candidate is a master storyteller with a deep understanding of strategic messaging, audience engagement, and modern communication channels.
This position requires exceptional writing skills, an ability to craft compelling narratives and a strong grasp of digital and social media trends. The Communications Manager will work closely with presentation design teams, marketing, and communications professionals to ensure alignment with JobsOhio’s strategies, industry sectors, and JobsOhio’s messaging platform.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Craft high-impact speeches, remarks, talking points, and thought leadership content for the President & CEO and executive leadership.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with JobsOhio’s mission and key initiatives.
- Ensure accuracy and work with JobsOhio research to utilize data-driven messages.
- Develop executive briefings for high-profile events, board meetings, and media engagements.
- Manage and enhance the President & CEO’s digital presence, including LinkedIn, X, and other relevant platforms.
- Collaborate closely with the JobsOhio Social Media team on all posts to ensure cross posting and amplification of all messages.
- Create compelling short-form video content, infographics, and posts to engage key stakeholders.
- Monitor trends and conversations to ensure executives remain relevant in industry discussions.
- Lead the development and production of JobsOhio’s executive podcast, showcasing leadership perspectives and economic insights.
- Collaborate with creative teams to produce engaging video interviews and behind-the-scenes content.
- Develop executive-level narratives that position JobsOhio’s leadership as a key voice in economic development.
- Identify opportunities for op-eds, keynote addresses, and interviews to amplify executive visibility.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to co-create announcement strategies.
- Work closely with the Communications and Marketing (Communications, Digital Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Creative Services), Business Development, and Research teams to ensure message consistency.
- Support executive participation in major announcements, groundbreakings, and community events.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements
- 8+ years in executive communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably supporting C-suite executives.
- Proven experience in speechwriting, thought leadership, and high-profile storytelling.
- Strong understanding of social media strategy, short-form video content, and executive communication.
- Expertise in podcast and video production with a track record of creating engaging multimedia content.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills with a focus on clarity and impact.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with confidence.
- A strong network of media and influencer relationships to amplify executive messaging.
- Attention to detail and organization are critical requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital content platforms, and project management tools.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline.
