THE WORKThe AN/BLQ-10 Submarine Electronic Warfare System is critical to our U.S. Naval Submarine fleet and force projection capabilities. The BLQ-10 is a proven, low-risk, and affordable solution that provides critical analysis in the modern battlefield. It automatically detects, acquires, identifies, and localizes signals of immediate importance to the submarine commanding officer. The BLQ-10 displays and reports Mission Tasking, Quick Search Primary and Secondary Threat Warnings, Precision and Communications Direction Finding, Signal Alerts, and Analysis/Situation Assessment. Designed with a flexible open architecture, it provides the ability for future growth and upgrades to ensure the most modern capabilities are delivered to our Warfighter.
This position is an opportunity to work as a Lab Lead / Staff level Field Engineer in a fast-paced team-oriented lab environment supporting electronic warfare equipment. This role is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations in the BLQ-10 labs in Liverpool, NY. Due to the need to manage the lab, this position is not virtual/remote.
In this role the candidate may be required to perform short term domestic or international travel at a maximum of 10% of the time supporting our customer when the need arises.
Description:
Leadership and Oversight
• Provide strong oversight and leadership in a fast-paced systems integration & test, production test and assembly lab environment.
• Ensure all inventorying, assembly and installation tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards.
• Manage workflow and prioritize tasks to meet program deadlines.
• Train, mentor, and supervise lab/field technicians and assembly personnel.
• Enforce adherence to lab safety, quality, cleanliness and compliance protocols.
Reporting and Communication
• Communicate regularly with management regarding lab performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities. Raise staffing concerns and establish personnel cross-training plans
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Process Improvement and Compliance
• Implement best practices for lean manufacturing and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and reports related to lab operations.

Basic Qualifications:1) Strong team management skills with Experience supporting DOD systems in a shipyard environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2) Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow established test procedures
3) Candidate must be familiar with different pieces of test equipment. Examples like Fiber Cable Test Tools (i.e. interferometer, meters, etc.), Digital Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, or a Signal Generator.
4) Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance level of SECRET
5) Proficient using MS Office Software including; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Desired Skills:1) Previous field engineering and equipment support experience in support of a defense program
2) Previous Military experience performing maintenance and operation of Surface Electronic Warfare or BLQ-10 System.
3) Skills conducting and leading on the job training.
4) Strong skills interpreting and following schematics and assembly drawings.
5) Understanding of Unix/Linux operating system in the areas of file system navigation and commands.
6) Fiber Optics repair/cleaning/polishing/termination

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
