Description
The Leidos Cargo Mission Contract currently has an opening for a Decal Lab Intern to work in our Webster, Texas office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your fabrication and design experience to provide mission support for NASA. This position will provide hands-on fabrication support of decal, label, and placard products to our cargo and engineering teams through use of hand tools, printing, metal photo process, CNC cutting and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags. The position will also provide design support using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, NiceLabel and RFID software. Primary Responsibilities
Assist the CMC Decal Operations team by providing manufacturing support to fabricate decals, labels, RFID tags and placards to support flight hardware for the International Space Station and Exploration programs, mockups, and trainers.
Additional duties will be providing design support to create graphics in support of the decal lab, CMC, and Leidos.
Duties include:
Technical experience with RFID tags, Readers, printers, Zebra and NiceLabel Designer software for the implementation and production of tags. Knowledge of RFID technology standards for UHF tag, inlay, chip types and unique EPC/User memory.
Enrolled in BS degree or Masters, in a relevant area of study and working towards a degree in Engineering, or related field at an accredited college/university.
Create artwork for decals using Photoshop, Illustrator NiceLabel and Zebra Designer software.
Read and interpret information from Engineering Drawings and eLabel orders to produce decals, placards, labels, RFID tags and graphics compliant with the fabrication requirements.
Produce decal products using various production process and materials from start to finish.
Perform quality checks on artwork prior and postproduction.
Provide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documents.
Support lab organization, maintenance, cleaning, and inventory as required.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residence status is required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
