USSPACECOM Space S&T Analyst
KBR is hiring a highly a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join the Warfighter Analysis and Assessments team that provides U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) support to the J81 Science and Technology Group. An active TS/SCI clearance is MANDATORY.
In this role, you will support the Command’s analysis of needs, capabilities, and application of resources. You will leverage modeling and simulation techniques, existing findings/reports, and quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess technical candidate solutions, resulting in identifying joint Science and Technology (S&T) solutions quickly for space warfighting.
You will apply expertise in Joint Warfighting Concepts, mission level concept development, and mission engineering to inform concept maturation, prototypes and experimentation and acquisition channels.
A perfect candidate will have Combatant Command experience and a Science and Technology background. You will:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide space-related capability analysis to support operational decision making and risk decisions.
- Conduct deep-dives into emerging capabilities and provide recommendations for rapid demonstrations and concepts, technology deployment, integration, and transition.
- Establish analytical methods and techniques for strategic analysis of USSPACECOM Science & Technology capabilities for experimentation, demonstration, and prototyping.
- Coordinate demonstrations as part of larger efforts such as Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations (JCTDs), Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER), Technical Assessment Teams (TAPs), Service Technology Demonstrations, and Joint Test & Evaluation (JT&E) projects, or Science and Technology initiatives.
- Create a set of assessment criteria for experimentations and demonstrations based upon USSPACECOM warfighting domains; then employ as entry-exit criteria to align risk reduction to Joint experiments.
- Deliver experimentation assessment reports to support feedback and transition, evaluate gap closure and future experimental exploration, assess innovation budgeting and resource allocation, resulting in integration across USSPACECOM S&T portfolio and technology demonstrations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- An active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this position, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a technical or operations research concentration is highly desired
- At least 10 years of experience in space operations experience to include one of the following:
- Joint Fires – High Energy lasers, Hypersonic weapons, Orbital Warfare
- Joint Information Advantage – Electronic Warfare, Positioning, Navigation & Timing (PNT)
- Joint C2 - JADC2, ABMS, or C2BMC
- Previous staff experience on a CCMD, MAJCOM, HHQ, Joint Staff, OSD etc. staff highly desired.
- Knowledgeable of and ability to apply expertise in Joint Warfighting Concepts, mission level concept development, and mission engineering to S&T efforts.
- Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data.
- Expertise using the Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to coordinate with others to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially when communicating technical information to audiences with varying backgrounds.
- Must be able to analyze space system operational, technical, programmatic, and acquisition inputs and formulate recommendations for senior leader consideration.
- Ability to brief and interact with senior-level officers (i.e., GO/FLAG) and senior civilians.
- Understanding of military operations, or prior military experience in a position that required modeling and analysis on a Joint Staff or Service staff.
Desired:
- A master’s degree in operations research, modeling, and simulation, or related field.
- Knowledge of modeling and analysis using mathematical/quantitative methods.
- Proficient at creating analytical models and simulations.
- Proficiency in any of the following programming languages or statistical packaes: R, Pyton, MATLAP, SAS, JAVA, JMP, Excel VBA, STORM, SEAS, Power BI, Tableua, Qlic, SPSS, PSPP, SymPy.

Basic Compensation:
$140,000 - $165,000
This range is for Colorado only.
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
