THE WORKThis position is for a Engineering & Technology (E&T) First Line Manager (FLM) within the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) portfolio, supporting the F-35 market segment of TLS.
This leader will leverage the group's strong engineering focus to ensure delivery of innovative solutions to our customers. Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment, developing training plans, working with employees and leaders to develop career plans and employee performance monitoring and reviews.
As an Integrated Engineering Manager, you will be expected to facilitate the deployment and use of best practices, tools, and processes on our programs and work with the cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are staffed properly, engineering proposal inputs are detailed, and the organization’s staff is meeting all business commitments. As a functional manager and technical leader, coordination, driving consistency, and mentoring with/to the other engineering leaders is paramount.
The desired candidate will champion engineering rigor and product development process compliance throughout the product lifecycle. They should bring innovative ideas that influence the broader engineering tenets while aligning activities for efficient and successful engineering methodology.
As the GSE Development Manager, you will also be responsible for ensuring the execution of the development sub-IPT portion of the GSE engineering portfolio:
- Work package manager, responsible for analysis of respective work area, reportable to the GSE IPT Lead/CAM
- Provide Tech Leadership, guide resolution, meetings, ensure team program commitments are met, assign work resources, reviews, briefing, facilitate deployment of tools practices, knowledge sharing, Manage staffing resources, technical cost schedule across GSE development teams and activities
- Review, understand, and provide feedback on the scope of work assigned by the GSE IPT Lead to the development teams; disseminate to the development teams; bear overall responsibility for the program’s performance for this scope of work
- Champion and help lead organizational change across the Development teams within GSE

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related engineering discipline
• Experience executing and leading engineering teams or projects
• Experience planning and coordinating development activities in a team-oriented environment
• Proven ability to manage and lead teams through periods of change and transformation
• Strategic-focused mindset and ability to drive results
Desired Skills:• 5+ years supporting Ground Support Equipment portfolio in engineering functions
• Thorough understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Demonstrated Agile tenets in the execution of the development of systems
• Demonstrated ability and desire to automate manual, time-consuming tasks
• Direct experience working with the Joint Program Office and fostering a customer relationship

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
