What does a successful Technical Production Support – Sr Professional do at Fiserv?
You will be a part of our Core Acquiring engineering group within Fiserv’s Global Business Solutions (Payment Acceptance) business. You will join an organization responsible for mission critical platforms that support our payment acquiring business. You will be part of a team that captures millions of payment transactions per day with a peak throughput of over 4,000 transactions per second maintaining millisecond response times for some of the largest merchants in the US.
As a part of this Production Support Team, you will be responsible for 24x7 support and monitoring for applications that authorize and settle credit, debit, check and prepaid transactions. You will also provide day-to-day support to our clients (merchants, gateways, vendors) when issues are encountered in the production environment. This position is great for someone who loves to learn, has great technical skills, enjoys solving puzzles and likes a challenge.
What you will do:
- Provide Level-II application support, working closely with Merchant Representatives, Level-I support teams, and Fiserv's Global Command Center.
- Troubleshoot application-wide issues, implement solutions, and validate changes
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to manage scheduled changes and address incidents for payment gateway and backend applications
- Analyze alerts and errors in application logs, determining impacts and recommending mitigation steps
- Drive incident resolution calls, ensuring effective communication and resolution of merchant-specific and application-wide issues
- Develop expertise in supported applications and evolve into a subject matter expert
- Communicate complex technical issues to Merchant Representatives, Incident Managers, Product Owners, and various Fiserv team
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of experience in technical support experience including Windows administration
- 1+ year of experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Kibana
- Ability to work a 24/7 on-call schedule on a weekly rotation basis
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience in the banking, payments and/or financial domain
- Experience with network technologies such as LAN/WAN, Windows Servers, SQL, Firewall, and POS systems
- Experience with PC/Windows and/or Linux/AIX, with a technical aptitude for handling issues independently and under pressure
- Experience managing software applications across a multi-unit environment
