Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Goal: DevOps Administrator provides support and leads teams through the Engineering development process and implementation of company’s products.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and solve infrastructure-related problems with infrastructure as code (IaC) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS)
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting development automated testing
- Support CI/CD pipelines (build, maintain, troubleshoot)
- Improve operations by automating tasks and/or creating tools
- Work with a subset Azure, and AWS or GCP services (VMs/Scale Sets, SQL DB, App Services, APIM, Front Door, App Gateways, Vnet/Subnet, Function Apps, Logic Apps, Event Grids/Topics, Key Vaults, Storage Accounts, App Service Plans, Data Factories, Containers, Docker, K8, EC2, S3, RDS, lambda, KMS and VPC, etc.)
- Support security and IAM / Role Based Access Controls in Azure, management of Azure Application/Network Security Groups, Azure Policy, and Azure Management Groups and Subscriptions.
- Deploy, provision, and manage Azure/AWS/GCP infrastructure components including but not limited to virtual networks and subnets, virtual machines, applications, containers, serverless services, storage, IAM services, virtual network appliances, VDI, logging, and monitoring.
- Assist in the automation, management, and enforcement of policies using Azure Policies
- Advise on cost optimization for current infrastructure
- Work with the development, project management, business analyst, IT and architecture teams to achieve project objectives
- Monitor cloud-based systems for availability, performance, reliability, security, etc. using tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics Performance
- Document and build best practices
- Other duties as assigned
Position Knowledge and Skills:
- General automation including PowerShell or Bash scripting
- Expertise in system administration of the remote-capable infrastructure is a must
- Experience with continuous integration tools and source control tools. GitHub and Jenkins knowledge is a strong preference
- Proven experience in Serverless Architecture, Containers orchestration tools like OpenShift, EKS, Docker Swarm, ECS, Kubernetes, developing Cloud Formation Templates, knowledge of SAM templates preferred and/or Terraform Design
- Programing and scripting experience in any programming language. Strong preference to C# or PHP experience.
- Knowledge of storage systems (filesystem, NFS, SMB, SSD, object storage, etc.) is a must
- Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types.
- Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience a plus
- Understanding of software systems design tools, testing, coding, and debugging procedures
- Experience with the general operation of Windows & RHEL Linux Operating systems
- Experience with monitoring of infrastructure using tools as SolarWinds, Vmware, etc
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience; Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Special Qualifications: Certifications are a plus:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional
- AZ-103 certification for Microsoft Azure Administrator
- AZ-900 certification for Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Standard 8-5 work week; Able to work outside normal business hours when needed, some weekend work as needed.
