Accounting Specialist
Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing data entry associated with accounts payable, billing and job costing. The position requires knowledge in service industry accounting. Service Industry/Construction transactions strongly preferred.
Essential Duties
- Maintain internal relationships with service team and coordinate with all departments to ensure timely and accurate data flow to the Accounting Department
- Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, vendors and other external agents to maximize profits.
- Process accounts payable invoices, employee per diems, and check requests.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements monthly.
- Prepare and distribute customer billing according to established schedule.
- Produce accurate maintenance and project invoices for contract billings.
- Maintain confidentiality of business-related information.
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives and process
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives and operational consistency with ABM Building Solutions policies, programs, procedures, systems and guidelines.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of experience in service job costing.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint) skills preferred.
- Previous experience in service industry accounting, preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, JDE or Oracle Fusion preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are critical.
- Must be well-organized, hardworking, have a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Ability to understand and execute instructions quickly and effectively.
