Overview
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across school buildings and educational facilities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical infrastructure to support daily academic operations and special events.
Pay: $32.00/hour

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, outlets, lighting systems, and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions in classrooms, labs, auditoriums, and outdoor areas.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Assist with electrical setup for school functions, events, and temporary power needs.
- Collaborate with contractors, inspectors, and other trades during renovations or construction.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Respond to maintenance service tickets in a timely manner.
- Provide input on energy efficiency upgrades or electrical system improvements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a state-recognized electrician apprenticeship or technical school.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in commercial or institutional electrical work.
- Knowledge of current electrical codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have a Valid State Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a school district, college, or university environment.
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems (e.g., fire alarms, intercoms, security systems).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
