TARGET ENTRY SALARY: BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST I: $67,145 - $70,502 DOQBUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST II: $77,729 - $81,615 DOQPOSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLEDUnder limited direction, the Business Systems Analyst I or II provides oversight, analysis, and evaluation of all department and City-wide software systems and data. Evaluates, installs, and tests software and evaluates integrity of data and information.Current recruitment is for the Public Utilities Department.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions: -- Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Identifies, troubleshoots, addresses and resolves production system problems and related issues; responds to technical requests and provides support; confers with users about software and data concerns. Provides technical and analytical support and assistance for software systems used in house and remotely; depending on area of assignment, may work with KRONOS, Caventa Software, FCS, etc. Updates, maintains, edits, and monitors intranet site; converts files for appropriate upload, manages departmental pages and related documents, and ensures content reflects the City goals and objectives. Prepares test data and verifies system test results; consults with user, technical staff, and functional project team members on questions; analyzes and resolves system problems; serves as user liaison in development and maintenance projects. Communicates systems processes, status, or other relevant issues to internal and external customers; devise creative alternatives to achieve improvements or solutions to meet needs; designs project plans, outlines tasks, identifies staff skills, and ensures completion. Recommends controls by identifying gaps and designing solutions to automate manual processes. Oversees, plans, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinates; provides general personnel management and training. Creates, develops, and runs database queries to meet staff reporting needs; reviews, evaluates, and monitors integrity of data; develops, produces, and maintains end-user reports and delivers complete and accurate documentation for management. Conducts the implementation and technical administration of business applications software; troubleshoots, upgrades and configures system as required. Maintains strong and effective relationships with internal and external customers including City Senior Executives; communicates clearly, concisely, and with sensitivity; works to resolve issues and deliver solutions; evaluates department data to ensure accuracy and integrity. Supports department initiatives through active participation on strategic planning, RFPs, contract term and language review, interview panels, ordinance reviews, council presentations, and special projects. Participates in various trainings to increase and enhance competencies; conducts and facilitates staff training to ensure cohesion in services delivered; prepares testing materials and analyzes results; maintains testing environments and participates in environmental redesign and analysis to enhance system environments. Depending on area of assignment, may be responsible for financial booking, reconciliation, reporting, analysis information, and integrity defense to external agents. Performs other duties as assigned.
