What does a successful Hardware Engineer do at Fiserv?

What you will do:
- Lead hardware design efforts, collaborating with JDM partners from concept to mass production.
- Design and optimize high-speed communication interfaces, battery-powered systems, and touchscreen/display integrations.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate and refine hardware performance, ensuring high reliability.
- Drive system integration, applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) best practices.
- Conduct hands-on prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
- Oversee LTE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi product design, including antenna integration, EMI/ESD mitigation, and PCB routing.
- Review and approve schematics and PCB layouts (Cadence/Allegro or similar).
- Manage offshore ODM partners to ensure efficient high-volume production with strict quality standards.
- Provide on-site support at manufacturing facilities during NPI to oversee builds and testing.
What you will need to have:
- BS in Electrical Engineering (EE) required.
- 6+ years of experience in wireless consumer electronics or embedded system design.
- Expertise in high-speed communication protocols, battery-powered system design, display and touchscreen integration, analog/digital audio design, and PCB/flex circuit technologies.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of shipping high-volume products.
- Deep understanding of system integration, design for manufacturing (DFM), and design for test (DFT).
- Hands-on experience with prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
- Knowledge of LTE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi product design, including antenna integration, EMI/ESD mitigation, and PCB routing.
- Proficiency in schematics, PCB layout review (Cadence/Allegro or similar tools), and RF/hardware lab equipment.
- Prior experience managing offshore ODMs to drive high-volume production.
