What does a successful Strategic Sourcing Manager do?
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is part of a strong team of global strategic sourcing professionals at Fiserv. The Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization deploys resources globally to effectively manage third party spend through a structured, strategic approach to procurement with the aim of delivering and sustaining value creation. This manager of strategic sourcing role will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative global category and sourcing strategies for the prepaid card and logistics categories as well as reporting, analysis and coordination for overall sourcing activities. Sourcing projects will be in the areas of, but not limited to corporate services, HR & benefits, marketing, tax & audit, software, and other supply chain optimization opportunities. This role will work collaboratively with internal business clients as well as the supply base. This role reports to the EMEA Director – Global Strategic Sourcing.
This position independently manages spend in excess of $100M annually, sources and negotiates both domestic and global contracts and manages associated supplier relationships. This role interacts across all business units and across multiple levels of leadership. This role is expected to work in a global, collaborative environment within multiple levels of the organization as well as with external suppliers. This contributor must be self-directed demonstrating analytical ability, innate curiosity, and a strong sense of urgency.
What you will do:
- Lead strategy and negotiations for sourcing projects
- Lead reporting requirements for purchasing activities
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis on an as-needed basis
- Drive the development of category strategies within the broader context of the overall technology and sourcing strategies
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with key internal business partners
- Build and grow ethical, transparent and partnership-oriented relationships with external suppliers
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 4-6 years of relevant experience and experience as a key member or leader of a sourcing team
- The ability to demonstrate influencing skills and confidence to challenge at all levels
- Knowledge of contracting terms and standards with high degree of attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a global context demonstrating cultural and geographic sensitivity, awareness and flexibility
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously as well as the ability to manage through complex internal negotiations
- Knowledge of existing eSourcing platform technologies and providers
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills and demonstrated project management skills
- High ethical standards, Self-motivated and goal oriented, Comfortable working in a matrixed environment across several time zones
