Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
As an Automation Operations Technician, you will support and maintain robotic and automated systems at the Miami Lakes distribution center.

- Location: Miami Lakes, FL (United States)
- This position will be on 2nd Shift. This role must be available to be on call as required, and to work all shifts and/or swing shifts (including off shifts and weekends).

What You Will Do:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair robotic, mechanical, electrical, and automated systems—including software and hardware components like HMIs, WCS, and PLCs—while logging all maintenance activities.
- Perform diagnostics, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain accurate records of tools and equipment to support efficient repair and maintenance operations.
- Generate and maintain daily reports on system performance, downtime incidents, and maintenance activities to support operational visibility and continuous improvement.
- Train end users on automation systems and applications to ensure proper usage and routine operation.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT, and third-party vendors to resolve technical issues, implement improvements, and support system upgrades or redesigns.
- Follow established safety, quality, and maintenance protocols, including compliance with hazardous materials handling and ergonomic standards.
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Mechanical/Machinery: Knowledge of machines and tools; ability to use knowledge of machinery or mechanical objects including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
- Industrial Automation/Automatic Control: Knowledge of various industrial automatic control systems, processes and methodologies in a manufacturing environment; ability to implement and maintain automatic production systems/processes to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as minimize human intervention.
What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2+ years of experience with at least three of the following areas: autonomous vehicles, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, advanced battery technology, Automated conveyor systems, Lidar systems and Dematic DIQ system.
- A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations with an understanding of Warehouse Operations and Warehouse Management Systems
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Strong problem solving, priority setting, and communication skills. Proficiency in English as well as the local language where the engineer is based. Must possess strong collaborative and interpersonal skills to effectively work across functions.
- Knowledge of Robotics: Knowledge of designing, programming, and operating robots for various applications; ability to utilize programming languages and robotics knowledge to automate the necessary operations of the organization.

Summary Pay Range:
$28.15 - $42.25
