Overview
Summary: The HVAC Journeyman installs, operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems and related equipment in industrial and institutional facilities. This role also provides leadership to less experienced staff and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities: Inspect, operate, and maintain HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, generators, and associated equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC and related systems.
Monitor and troubleshoot control systems (pneumatic, DDC, hybrid) and adjust building management systems.
Respond to service calls for temperature and general repairs.
Install, assemble, and align HVAC components; connect piping and wiring.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems; replace defective parts.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
Supervise assigned staff, ensuring adherence to policies and safety standards.
Qualifications: Certified/Registered Journeyman; valid driver’s license.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in HVAC and refrigeration service; strong knowledge of DDC/BACnet and pneumatic controls.
Education: Technical school certificate or equivalent experience.
Preferred Competencies: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with building automation and work order systems.
