About your role:
As an Azure focused Senior Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be tasked with being the subject matter expert for our Azure environments. You will also be working with our Professional Services and Product Departments to provide feedback on our build pipeline and collaborate on improving our internal tools. Our Engineers play a critical role in the success of our clients and are expected to effectively communicate our recommended solutions in a consultative role for each client.
What you’ll do:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Azure for the Hosted Operations Team
- Utilize CICD concepts and tools such as Harness Octopus Deploy
- Manage the lifecycle of IaaS VMs - troubleshoot VM boot issues, Backup/Restore VM and Disks (Snapshot and Recovery Vault), Imaging, Resizing and Scaling VMs
- Utilize Azure Monitor, this will include configuring and maintaining the following: diagnostic settings, Log Analytics, Application Insights and writing Log Analytics queries via Kusto Query Language
- Building and running applications in AKS and serve as a point of escalation for complex Azure cases
- Participate in inter-departmental planning meetings on suggested solutions for existing issues as well as systemic and process improvements
- Work with internal team on identifying pain points in Azure deployments and configuration and ways to alleviate them
- Maintain and enhance current client environment configurations Organize and execute training sessions for new workflows and procedure recommendations
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Windows or Linux administration, Engineering, and Automation
- 4+ years of experience with Azure platform
- 4+ years of practical experience utilizing Azure data migration tools
- 4+ years of experience using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates
- 4+ years of experience with Terraform automation
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Azure Resource Management, Azure Monitor, & Azure Security. Experience with PowerShell, CLI, and ARM templates
- Proficiency with Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault & Azure Policy
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances (ACI), & Azure DevOps pipelines
- Scripting skills: Bash/Python/PowerShell
- Windows administration experience
