The Role:
As Assistant Plant Operations Manager, you will support Launch activities related to the implementation and execution of the Launch Deliverables and retool of equipment. This position will require fostering teamwork and communication between different functions and shifts. There may be a need to coach, train, develop and evaluate employees within Launch Team. The work is of a technical nature using independent judgement within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). There is a need to be able to deal with complex problems and lead continuous improvement projects, while scheduling to meet important deadlines and build dates.
What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):
As a Leader in Production, you will responsible for implementing and executing the established business process for an area of greater complexity in the production operations while fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Possess the ability to deal with complex problems.

Responsible for supporting activities that may include:
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for Ergonomics and Health & Safety
- Work closely with the Execution Team to develop the plan for all upgrades and builds
- Work closely with cross functional teams to implement GMS
- Lead cross functional Launch Team to achieve Launch Deliverables
- Implement Operational Readiness and create plan for 100% completion by Start Of Regular Production
- Communicate between different shifts/departments/functions
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to establish run at rate deliverables
- Validate Manufacturing and Quality processes during Launch
- Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union, and management
- Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
- Participate in the selection of new employees and trains, develops and evaluates salaried and hourly employees, and the development of highly effective teams
