The Vehicle Experiences Engine software organization is a dynamic and fast-paced team responsible for designing and developing embedded software platforms for Infotainment and Software Defined Vehicle solutions. The scope of this work includes operating systems, their BSP layers, core system services, and device drivers. We are developing a world-class GM experience for our customers and driving real changes for the most iconic automaker on the planet. Our team delivers platform solutions for SoCs that enable secure and reliable execution of Infotainment, Autonomous Driving and other high-compute applications. What You'll Do
- Define and lead software strategy for new technology, highly complex features, or significant enhancements for current, new, or major programs, with a focus on
- Vehicle Data delivery from mechatronic networks and other ECUs.
- Security, including necessary data encryption, integrity protection, authentication throughout all phases of vehicles’ manufacturing and use.
- Software and firmware programming from supplier factory to assembly plant to in-field OTA Updates.
- Define and lead Infotainment software development working in Linux and Android, while interacting with other operating systems and runtimes.
- Provide senior technical leadership and expertise to the development teams for the entire software development lifecycle.
- Lead and generate technical solutions including specifying requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, design, development, and testing for Infotainment software embedded in vehicle components.
- Perform software optimization analysis to improve system performance. Analyze and resolve performance, memory leaks and deadlocks issues.
- Work with and bridge across multiple disciplines, including Engineering, DevOps, Product teams, Program teams, and Information Technology, to make appropriate system level design trades.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and competitive products; define GM’s technical strategies in the areas of immediate responsibility.
- Ensure the designed solutions conform to non-functional requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and security.
- Challenge current implementations and innovate to advance competitiveness and improve quality.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to senior and junior engineers.
- Create and communicate vision & strategies specific to functional responsibilities. This includes preparing and giving presentations to senior and executive management.
