Overview
Supervises: All staff on site during the hours of 7am-3:30pm (CORE Daylight staff, Project Staff, Event Staff, and Private Event Staff)
Position Overview: The Janitorial Daylight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleaning operations from 7am-3:30pm at M&T Bank Stadium. This role ensures that the stadium is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for staff and guests. The supervisor must demonstrate proactive leadership, accountability, and a strong work ethic to ensure operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead, manage, and encourage all daylight janitorial staff, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Conduct regular check-ins with staff during their shifts to monitor progress, provide real-time feedback, and address any challenges, ensuring consistent engagement and support. Track and document staff productivity, including task completion rates and adherence to assigned roles, reporting any underperformance to management promptly.
- Deploying staff at beginning of shift:
- Sign staff in and assign specific tasks (Core, Private Event Name, Project Name).
- Ensure staff receive the correct size and color shirt (Yellow for projects, Black polos for private events and Core, Black long sleeve button-ups and vests for Blackwing or designated private events).
- Distribute proper keys, radios, and fully stocked carts (chemicals, supplies, PPE, etc.).
- Provide an in-depth briefing on tasks, demonstrate tasks as needed, and answer staff questions before, during, or after their shift.
- Proactively identify potential cleaning or operational issues during inspections and take immediate action to resolve them, consulting with management only when necessary.
- Note: No individual has a specific job description that exempts them from being assigned to any cleaning task or area unless a documented restriction (e.g., doctor’s note or agreement with ABM, 32BJ, or M&T Bank Stadium Operations) is provided to management.
- Training: Provide training, guidance, and motivation to janitorial staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety protocols. Make sure all staff is wearing proper PPE prior to beginning their task. Comply with all OSHA regulations in Baltimore, Maryland.
- Quality Control: Fill out the Quality Control Checklists and conduct regular inspections of the stadium to ensure cleaning standards are met and address any issues promptly. If there is something that did not get completed, or something that cannot be completed at that time, reach out to management with in-depth details.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper maintenance. In the breakroom or storage area, ensure a sufficient amount chemicals and supplies are on hand. Chemicals should be filled up and ready for staff to start their shift. For back of house storage, regularly count and check stock of products and chemicals. When beginning to run low on a product or chemical, provide a notice to management to ensure there is always product available.
- Reporting: Coordinate with the Event Manager, Post Event Manager, and Project Manager to discuss tasks and/or projects that were not completed. Maintain records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance or safety issues within one hour of identification, providing detailed explanations and proposed solutions. Maintain a daily log of time spent on supervisory tasks, inspections, training, and issue resolution, to be submitted weekly for review.
Daily Tasks to Complete:
- Daily Cleaning: Oversee the daily cleaning of all areas of the stadium, including seating areas, restrooms, locker rooms, event spaces, common areas, etc.
- Event Preparation: Ensure the stadium is clean and ready for events, including pre-event setup and post-event cleanup.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any cleaning emergencies or urgent maintenance issues.
- Laundry: Clean uniforms and rags should be folded and put in correct areas. Any dirty rags, mops, or uniforms should be put in the washer and dryer at the beginning of the shift, so the next shift has what they need.
- Shift Transition: At the end of the shift, ensure all equipment, supplies, and uniforms are properly stored, and provide a detailed handoff report to the next shift supervisor or manager, highlighting any incomplete tasks or issues.

- Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, motivating and guiding the janitorial team to achieve high standards of cleanliness. Serve as a role model by consistently demonstrating punctuality, thoroughness, and a proactive attitude in all tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all cleaning tasks are performed to the highest standards, with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the janitorial team, facility management, and other stakeholders. Proactively communicate with management about potential challenges, such as staffing shortages or supply issues, before they impact operations.
- Problem-Solving: Address any cleaning or maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, finding effective solutions.
- Reliability: Be dependable and punctual, ensuring the cleaning operations run smoothly and consistently. Take responsibility for actions and outcomes, ensuring reliability and trustworthiness.
- PPE: Ensure 100% staff adherence to PPE and safety protocols and maintain inventory stock levels to avoid shortages.

- Performance Accountability: The Daylight Field Supervisor’s performance will be regularly evaluated through metrics such as task completion rates, staff feedback, quality control checklist results, and adherence to timelines. Regular performance reviews with the Project Manager or Event Manager will ensure consistent engagement and accountability.
