Job Summary and Qualifications
The Telemetry Digital Product Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Telemetry Pod and the broader Clinical AI domain by translating business needs into actionable requirements, performing ad hoc analyses, and producing progress and outcome communication materials. This role involves gathering, organizing, and interpreting data to optimize product performance, drive user satisfaction, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
In collaboration with Product Owners and cross-functional teams, the Analyst provides actionable insights that shape the product development lifecycle and advance HCA’s Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) mission: bringing innovative technology solutions to the clinical and administrative frontline to improve patient outcomes, empower clinicians with insights, and drive greater efficiency.
Specifically, the Analyst plays a key role in advancing HCA’s enterprise telemetry modernization strategy. The role bridges business needs, clinical workflows, and technical solutions by conducting field discovery, analyzing vendor platforms, and identifying workflow variation across facilities. Findings are translated into requirements, metrics, and decision-making frameworks that will inform the development of a unified telemetry strategy.
By innovating care team processes and enabling data-driven transformation, the Telemetry Digital Product Analyst helps clinicians provide the best care possible, enhances their work experience, and contributes to HCA’s Clinical AI value drivers: Improving patient safety and outcomes; Increasing efficiency of care delivery; and Maximizing the value of clinical resources
What you will do in this role:
Product Development Support
- Collect and document business and clinical requirements, translating them into user stories and technical requirements
- Lead field discovery activities, including workflow shadowing, stakeholder interviews (telemetry techs, nurses, site leaders), and documentation of workflow variation
- Support vendor ecosystem analysis, including comparative platform assessments and identification of integration and escalation gaps
- Develop data dictionaries, baseline metric packs, and site-level variation analyses
- Contribute to drafting the Telemetry Transformation Strategy, charter, business case, and discovery deliverables
- Support Product Owner in day-to-day sprint planning and backlog management
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with experience / UX designer to codify business processes and identify areas for improvement
- Work with experience / UX designer to reflect user acceptance criteria in user stories
- Work with adoption teams and process/experience designer to translate user feedback into feature specifications
- Work with change management personnel to define change management strategies; work with adoption and scaling teams to help coordinate scaling
- Collaborate with Nursing Operations, Nursing Informatics, Clinical Leadership, and vendor representatives to ensure broad stakeholder representation
- Partner with adoption and change management teams to translate discovery findings into adoption and scaling strategies
Analysis and Reporting
- Assist with material collation and analysis in preparation for product demos, quarterly business reviews, and other report-outs for the pod
- Use statistical tools and data visualization techniques to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders
- Create comprehensive documentation and presentation materials (including process flows, product feature details, and user guides or explanations)
- Collect, analyze, and interpret product performance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Quantify correlations between telemetry event failures (e.g., missed alarms, reconnection delays) and downstream patient safety outcomes (e.g., ICU transfers, RRT activations)
- Create dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership updates, quarterly business reviews, and steering group sessions
- Maintain a library of key metrics, value models, and comparative vendor performance insights
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare, Computer Science, Economics, or related field - Required
- Masters degree in a relevant field - Preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in healthcare analytics, digital health, or clinical operations support - Required
- Experience in telemetry, clinical monitoring, or vendor platform analysis - Preferred
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams - Required
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
- Certification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related fields - Preferred
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies - Preferred
- Training or experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, or clinical informatics – Preferred
Work Location/Schedule:
- Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park)
- Onsite: M-F, 8am – 5pm
Travel Required:
- Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
