At KBR, we are seeking an experienced Documentation Specialist supporting the Aviation Rockets and Small Guided Munitions (ARSGM) Product Office in Huntsville, AL. The Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining documentation in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs and operations. This role ensures that all documentation complies with DoD standards, policies, and security requirements. The Documentation Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams, including program managers, engineers, and security personnel, to produce accurate, clear, and organized materials that support mission-critical objectives. This position also supports other needs of the office, such as managing team meetings, event planning, and coordination of travel for the team. Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documents, reports, and other program-related documentation.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to DoD formatting, style, and compliance standards.
- Ensure documentation complies with DoD regulations, including security classification guidelines and policies (e.g., NIST, RMF, and DoD 5200.1-R).
- Manage and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with DoD security protocols.
- Work closely with program managers, engineers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and translate it into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of documentation deliverables.
- Maintain version control and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to authorized personnel.
- Track changes and updates to documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide documentation support during audits, inspections, and program reviews.
- Manages miscellaneous office tasks, such as travel needs, scheduling, and event planning
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years’ experience in the documentation specialist field
- Knowledge of DoD standards and regulations
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and compliance
- Strong understanding of defense systems and operational requirements
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
