Job Summary
The Equipment Operator, Medium (Compost and Non-Hazardous Solid Waste) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized equipment. The role requires operating various machinery to support organic waste processing, performing routine equipment operating, and maintaining a safe work practices while operating equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate medium and heavy equipment including JD tractor, front-end loader, forklifts, skidsteer loader, compost screener, supreme feed processor, AGILE sludge system, horizontal grinder, and industrial pressure washer.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Transport and process compost and organic waste materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the composting facility and surrounding work areas.
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and managing inventory related to compost operations.
- Support facility operations including material staging, screening, grinding, and pressure washing tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and hazard awareness.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and environmental goals.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance equipment handling and operational efficiency.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating medium/heavy equipment in a waste management, agricultural, or industrial setting.
- Experience operating at least three of the following: front-end loader, skidsteer, forklift, tractor, or compost screener.
- Must have a valid vehicle driver’s license and maintain its validity for the duration of employment
- Fluency in Albanian and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Kosovo.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Certification in forklift or heavy equipment operation.
- Experience with AGILE sludge systems or similar waste processing technologies.
- Mechanical aptitude or vocational training in equipment maintenance.
- A level of proficiency in English, both written and verbal
