Job Summary
The Machine Operator (Compost and Non-Hazardous Solid Waste) plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Non-Hazardous Waste Management Program. This position is responsible for operating specialized machinery used in composting, shredding, grinding, and incineration processes, contributing directly to the safe and efficient processing of organic and recyclable materials. With increasing workload demands—exceeding targets for compost and recyclables—the role is essential to maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental standards. Roles and Responsibilities
Operate specialized equipment including compost screener, supreme feed processor, AGILE sludge system, horizontal grinder, industrial shredder, medical incinerator, and classified documents incinerator.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Transport and process compost materials in accordance with operational procedures and environmental standards.
Monitor machinery performance and report any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with facility safety protocols.
Support additional composting and facility operations as directed by supervisors.
Record operational data and assist in tracking material throughput and equipment usage.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and improve process efficiency.
Apply strong knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance procedures in daily operations.
Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives related to waste management and composting.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial or specialized machinery in a waste management, composting, or manufacturing environment.
Valid forklift operator certification.
Documented experience operating at least one of the following: compost screener, horizontal grinder, industrial shredder, or incinerator systems.
Demonstrated history of performing routine equipment maintenance and inspections.
Must have a valid vehicle driver’s license and maintain its validity for the duration of employment
Fluency in Albanian and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Kosovo.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Experience operating AGILE sludge systems or supreme feed processors.
Prior work experience in composting operations or organic waste processing facilities.
Completion of technical training or certification in mechanical systems or industrial equipment.
Familiarity with environmental compliance standards related to non-hazardous waste.
