Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Job Description
The Digital Security Analyst role is critical to safeguarding NBCUniversal's talent, executives, brands, and productions from digital and physical threats. The analyst will lead open-source investigations into persons of interest-particularly those targeting high-profile individuals-and contribute to executive protection efforts through proactive threat identification and mitigation. This role is responsible for producing a range of written and verbal assessments for employees, correspondents, production staff, and senior leadership, supporting the company's global security and crisis management operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background or interest in OSINT (Open-Source-Intelligence), social media research, and digital investigations, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights. This role demands discretion, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze open-source intelligence, social media platforms, and internal security tools to identify emerging threats and risks to NBCUniversal assets.
- Conduct investigations into persons of interest targeting NBCUniversal talent, executives, and brands.
- Respond to and triage incoming security concerns from employees, talent, and executives via email and ticketing systems.
- Produce timely, accurate, and actionable threat assessments and incident reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support investigations into cyber harassment, physical security threats, executive spam campaigns, and negative sentiment trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams across O&T (Cybersecurity, Messaging, Client Services) and business units to support cross-functional security initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations for escalated incidents involving high-risk individuals or large-scale threats.
- Analyze and disposition alerts from social media monitoring platforms and other digital tools.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of case management processes, playbooks, and response protocols.
- Provide technical and analytical support for internal investigations and security escalations.
- Brief senior leadership on threat landscapes, incident impacts, and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain awareness of global events and digital security trends that may affect NBCUniversal operations or personnel.

- Partner with teams across Cybersecurity, Messaging, Client Services, and business units to advance cross-functional security initiatives, leveraging your collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

- Analyze alerts from monitoring platforms, refine response protocols, and contribute to case management playbooks and workflows for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- 2+ years’ experience in intelligence analysis, digital investigations, cybersecurity operations, or related fields.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills -- able to translate complex threats into clear insights to all levels management including talent and C-level.
- Hands on experience with open-source research, social media monitoring, and threat intelligence.
- Ability to perform under pressure and collaborate effectively in high-stakes environments.
- High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with open-source research (OSINT) platforms and methodologies.
- Proficiency with digital platforms such as Discord and Reddit for intelligence gathering.
- Advanced open-source research capabilities, with familiarity across social media platforms and digital communities for proactive intelligence efforts.
- Solid understanding of privacy laws, data protection, and platform-specific security settings.
- Background in corporate security, cyber intelligence, military intelligence, or criminal investigations.
- Experience with case management systems and incident response workflows.
- Proficient in data analysis, including log review and pattern recognition.
- Knowledge of executive protection protocols and high-risk travel assessments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to brief senior stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
