ResponsibilitiesAs our Surgical Technician II at the CHI Woodlands Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiative and Dignity Health, you’ll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We can’t operate without you.
The operating room (OR) runs as a team, every person on the team has an important role that has a direct impact on the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.
- Assist surgical team in the scrubbing role and report any breaks in aseptic technique
- Assist with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting
- Assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
- Perform surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure
- Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
We are offering a $10,000 sign on bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required as of September 1, 2010 or 'grandfathered' CSH employees or LVN
- BLS Certification Required
- Two (2) years of experience
