Work You’ll Do
Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organizations’ global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate, passthrough and partnership. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Primary responsibilities include participating in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and the tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for federal and state clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary. Actively participate in engagement planning. Prepare tax returns.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law or related field (willing to accept foreign equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
Experience must include 1 year of:
- preparing federal and state income tax returns for C-Corporations and Partnerships including Forms 1065, 1120, 8865, and 926;
- creating workpapers, including calculating income, deductions, tax adjustments and taxable income, to prepare federal and state tax returns under IRS rules, including Forms 1065 and 1120, applicable footnotes, Schedules K-1 and K-3, and applicable state forms;
- utilizing tax software including TaxInterest to prepare calculations and create packages for Schedules K-1 and K-3 reporting fund partner allocations, including checking mappings and format;
- preparing quarterly estimated tax payments for clients, and preparing schedules including Schedules 2220 and 1040-ES for federal and state income tax returns and state franchise tax; and
- utilizing tax software including GoSystem to provide tax compliance services to clients.
