The two semester co-program offers candidates working toward their Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering exposure to variety assignments which could include: New Product Development, FMEA & DFMEA, Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Product Design, Component and Reliability Testing. Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.Responsibilities:
- Work with senior engineers and product managers to develop hardware designs and debug new or experimental embedded controllers.
- Assist senior engineers with board level validation testing.
- Assist Senior engineers with development, testing, and analysis of embedded controllers and sensor systems.
- Maintain orderly project records. Analyze, condense, and present data results and recommendations to the controls engineering team.
- Assist engineering team with managing bills of materials.
Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Undergraduate student in their junior, or senior year; or graduate student.
- Must be available to work Full-time for 6-8 consecutive months (May-December)
- U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Key Competencies:
- Collaborate with others to foster effective teamwork by linking own responsibilities to the team’s goals and needs - zeal for new information, knowledge, and experiences
- Rapidly resolve problems to maximize customer satisfaction
- Operating test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience soldering SMT components.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
- Experience working with 32bit micro controllers (ESP32, STM32, NXP RT10xxx)
- Experience using system peripheral drivers such as SPI, UART, USB, and CAN to interface with remote sensors and systems.
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Python
