What does a successful Clover Sr. Android Application Developer do at Fiserv?
Join our Clover team and help build the technology that powers millions of payments every day. As a Senior Android Application Developer, you'll create the apps and APIs that are the backbone of our merchants' operations—from order management to inventory. This is your chance to work on high-impact products with a collaborative, fast-moving team that is transforming the world of commerce.
What you will do:
- Own one or more of the Clover applications. Add new features, resolve bugs, and refactor/improve the code base.
- Develop native Android applications that power core merchant experiences on our Clover POS devices.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX designers to shape and refine app features and user flows.
- Partner with QA to create solid test plans that ensure our features work flawlessly.
- Strengthen our apps by fixing bugs found by internal teams and field support.
- Contribute to our on-call rotation, jumping in to address customer issues when needed.
- Build tests and automation to improve how we validate and maintain our products.
- Take ownership of complex features, from concept through delivery, and support junior engineers with guidance and best practices.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field, and or equivalent military experience.
- 4+ years of Android development experience in a professional capacity with a proven ability to work independently as a senior individual contributor.
- Proven ability to implement Android software design patterns and application architecture.
- Experience with Java 8+ and Android SDK, Kotlin, Android emulators, RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
- Experience problem-solving and debugging.
- Knowledge of revision control and code review tools like Git, Gerrit.
What would be great to have:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
- Comfortable writing robust unit tests, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
- Experience working with international or remote teams and high-performance Agile Scrum teams.
- Experience with Android Bound Services and Android Open Source Project.
- Experience with distributed computing.
- Experience with building accessible software - ADA, WCAG standards - testing tools: JAWS, screen readers.
