Amentum is seeking a talented and experienced Training Specialist/Program Analyst in the Information Systems Technician Communications (ITR) knowledge area to support the Submarine Learning Center (SLC) in Groton, CT. This effort will provide support services in the areas of Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (MPTE) supporting the Career Long Learning Continuum (CLLC). You will accomplish analytical and validation tasks which focus on, but not limited to learning continuums related to Information Technician Electronic Warfare (ITE), IT Communications (ITR), IT Network (ITN), Fire Control Technician (FT), Sonar Technician Submarines (STS), Torpedoman’s Mate (TM), Machinist Mate Auxiliary (MMA), and Electronic Technician Navigation (ETV) depending upon your specialty area of knowledge.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Analyze Submarine Onboard Training (SOBT) products to identify opportunities to reduce onshore training across the continuums of learning.
Align FLEET qualification card knowledge requirements and practical factors with Journeyman and Master level course content to support the Day One Ready Sailor (DORS) initiative. DORS provides instructors a tangible benchmark linked to TYCOM qualification requirements with the intent of delivering Sailors capable of standing watch on Day One.
Validate integrity and prepare Task Analysis data for transfer to a Curriculum Data System.
Provide course conversion support from legacy curriculum development systems to NAVEDTRA 142, Navy Training Plan curriculum development systems.
Provide development support for the transition of FT, STS, and officer curricula to Advanced Processor Build (APB-21). Support development and course pilots for Information Warfare Officer course and 3 MC courses.
Required Qualifications:
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
Former U.S. Navy support at the E6 or above level in the following area: Information Systems Technician Communications (ITR)
5 years of experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of training standards and development.
Curriculum development experience in support of Naval task based curriculum development and fundamental training support management and guidance.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to produce finished products in support of SLC CLLC.
Must have an understanding of the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) toolset.
Ability to support limited travel to NETC HQ, NETC Learning Centers/Sites, NAWCTSD Orlando, and other skill location sites as required.
Ability to obtain CAC credentials a necessary for access to IT systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Training Specialist (MTS).
Experience with Content Planning Module (CPM), Learning Object Module (LOM) and Learning Analysis and Design (LEAD) software applications.
Working knowledge of the NAVEDTRA 130 (series), 136, and 142, Navy Training Plan.
Place of Performance: Submarine Learning Center in Groton, CT.
Schedule: Work within the established hours of 0600-1700, Monday through Friday (onsite presence during the core work hours of 0900-1500).
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $80,000-$85,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
