Internal and External Communications Specialist (Remote)
KBR is seeking an expert writer and storytelling for an Internal and External Communications Sr. Specialist role to help tell our story clearly, consistently and creatively. We believe effective communication is key to our success, both within our team and with our external audiences. This position will support Mission Tech’s four business units, with a portfolio supporting NASA, the Department of Defense, Space Force and other customers. Ideal candidates will have experience in communications, marketing, government and defense contracts and media engagement.
The Internal and External Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing communication strategies that engage employees and connect KBR’s story to external stakeholders. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with executive leadership to shape and deliver key messages.This position will include creating and implementing an internal employee and executive communication strategy. The role will also contribute and develop strategies forexternal marketing deliverablesincluding brochures, videos, social media, advertisements and press releases. The specialist will also lead, develop and execute media engagement, interviews, speaking engagements, podcastsand other storytelling avenues.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
Design and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies that keep employees informed, motivated, and connected to the company’s mission, values, and goals.
Develop and manage channels such as employee newsletters, SharePoint and intranet content, video messages, and interactive forums that foster two-way communication and a strong corporate culture.
Lead employee engagement initiatives and internal events, virtual town halls, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms to enhance morale and collaboration.
External Communications, Media & Brand Management
Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive media engagement strategy to build and strengthen relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
Identify and execute speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for leaders including story placement, podcasts, media interviews and event panels.Assist with talking points and story shaping for opportunities.
Create and write compelling marketing materials for external communications, including brochures, social media, advertisements,videos and scripts,PowerPointpresentationsand campaign content that effectively promote the company’s capabilities, services and brand.
