About your role:
The End User Computing Windows Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and optimization for end-user devices and applications, focusing on Windows operating systems and related technologies. This role involves troubleshooting, implementing security measures, and ensuring a seamless user experience across various hardware and software configurations.
What you’ll do:
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Aid end-users via phone, email, or in-person, resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring the timely resolution of service tickets.
- Windows Operating System Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, including updates, security patches, and software installations.
- Device Management & Security: Implement and manage device configuration, endpoint security, and user access controls to protect end-user devices and data.
- Application Management: Deploy, manage, and update software applications, ensuring compatibility and proper functioning on end-user devices.
- Endpoint Management Tools: Configure and manage tools like SCCM, Intune, and JAMF for device provisioning, device compliance, and application delivery.
- User Education & Training: Provide training and guidance to end-users on technology with the best practices and new features, as well as assist with basic IT tasks.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Document technical issues, solutions, and troubleshooting steps, contributing to a comprehensive knowledge base. Develop custom reports in SCCM and Intune including configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify areas for process improvement and automation, leveraging scripting tools to streamline end-user computing tasks.
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Windows operating systems (10, 11) and related technologies.
- 4+ years of experience scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and systems management.
- 4+ years of experience using tools like Microsoft Intune, SCCM, Active Directory and MS 365.
- 4+ years of experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools and infrastructure.
- 4+ years of experience with software packaging, deployment systems, and automated workstation build methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- ITIL v4 certification and experience using ServiceNow.
- Strong technical knowledge across various IT domains (network, security, servers, cloud).
- Proficient understanding of ports and protocols, TCP/IP and firewall policies and designs.
- Familiarity with IT security and compliance best practices. Knowledge of network infrastructure, security protocols and application management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional agile teams.
How you’ll work:
- This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis.
- This role requires the use of a computer and audio equipment.
