About your role:
The SRE is an experienced Windows operating system engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and using automation to improve the reliability of systems, and the efficiency and accuracy of changes. This person is responsible for coordination, change management, monitoring and issue response for changes and deployments across thousands of servers in multiple data centers.
What you’ll do:
- The SRE will troubleshoot operating systems, storage, networking and performance issues in a Complex Windows environment.
- Perform capacity management; add and reduce system resources such as memory, CPU, and disk. Install, uninstall and troubleshoot 3rd party software across several thousand systems programmatically. Write shell or python scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Responsible for a day-to-day support of the Windows environment in support of hosted Fiserv clients globally. The role performs a wide range of technical duties associated with Windows operating system in Physical and Virtualized environments across multiple Datacenters.
- Some of those duties include 24X7 Windows systems administration, immediate response and/or investigation of system alerts in a complex network environment, monitor system performance and take proactive corrective action to ensure maximum system availability is achieved.
- Your creativity and technical expertise will help automate everything from basic to complex tasks.
- You will participate in meetings, planning, preparation, and execution of complex work on a large-scale Windows platform.
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in Windows Infrastructure/System Engineering and Operations experience in heterogeneous environments.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Windows Domain\Active Directory, Failover Clustering, Perfmon, IIS,SSL Certificate, DNS, Group policy, VMware and vSphere management, Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019
- Familiar with Storage, Backup and networking technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Excellent customer service skills with high level of professionalism, well-speaking, ability to deal with internal clients and managers at various levels, work with engineers & vendors when needed.
- A strong knowledge and understanding of Incident Management, Change-Management and Problem Management as it relates to Information Technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues as they relate to the end clients experience with our delivery of applications and services.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-energy environment with strong personal composure and crisis-management skills.
How you’ll work:
- This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis.
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
