Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. CNBC’s Events & Councils team is looking for an experienced news producer to support our growing stable of multi-platform editorial franchises and executive membership communities.
The Senior Editorial Producer will develop and produce virtual and in-person event sessions that build community and connection between speakers and attendees, driving value for C-Suite executives, investors, academics, policymakers and others. Leveraging CNBC’s brand, booking power and deep bench of editorial expertise, the Senior Editorial Producer will create high-impact moments that deliver long-tail results and powerful relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with teammates on the development and execution of Councils events programming, which includes annual in-person summits, salon-style dinners and virtual town halls.
- Conceptualize event themes, develop and oversee agendas, brainstorm and book guest speakers.
- Develop new community building event and event segment formats.
- Grow relationships with council members and their key stakeholders, finding impactful thought leadership opportunities for them as appropriate and in keeping with CNBC’s rigorous editorial standards.
- Collaborate across the Events & Councils team as needed to provide editorial support to all events.
- Contribute to creation of “long-tail” event-based content for CNBC’s TV and Digital audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of experience producing television news or live conferences and events
- Experience covering key business news verticals including technology and AI, finance, economics, global trade, and future of work.
- Exceptional journalistic instincts
- Ability to operate in a high-pressure environment managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Desired Characteristics

- An ability to set editorial priorities
- Television production or digital storytelling experience
- Understanding of new AI tools and how they can be used to enhance (but not replace) your creative process.
- Experience working with high-level executives and other VIPs
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
