What does a successful Credit Risk Manager do?
The Fiserv Credit Risk Organization is responsible for managing the risk throughout the lifecycle of the firm’s products and services. As a Credit Risk Manager, your contributions can significantly impact Fiserv’s bottom line. You will manage a large portfolio of merchant accounts in the high risk and high volume segment, including travel, furniture, e-commerce, membership, consumer discretionary sectors, etc., in the middle market and enterprise space. This is an exciting and fast-paced organization where you will play a key role in supporting the Credit Director, managing merchant escalations, preparing reports, managing projects and determining risk mitigation strategies.
What you will do:
- Manage a portfolio of high-risk and high-volume merchant accounts in various sectors such as travel, furniture, e-commerce, and membership.
- Assist the Credit Director with merchant escalations and adverse actions.
- Prepare and present reporting for senior leaders focusing on key merchant/industry KPIs like liquidity, leverage, financial performance, and regulatory risks.
- Determine and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies, including collateral actions, exit strategies, and contract restructurings.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, relationship management, chargeback operations, and bank partners, to drive actions forward in a timely manner.
What you will need to have:
- 3+years of proven credit risk experience in middle market/corporate bank lending, merchant acquiring risk focused on middle market/enterprise clients, and/or large scale asset-based lending.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline, and/or equivalent military experience.
- 3+ years of experience in credit and data analysis, demonstrating strong analytical skills.
- 3+ years of experience in negotiating and selling, with excellent business judgment and creativity.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, along with the ability to learn and develop new internal systems.
What would be great to have:
- 5+ years of experience in managing high-risk and high-volume merchant accounts in sectors such as travel and e-commerce.
- 5+ years of experience in preparing and presenting complex reports for senior leadership.
- 5+ years of experience working with interdepartmental stakeholders to drive risk management initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and macroeconomic risk factors affecting the industry.
