Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
The Senior Manager, U.S. Benefits, Labor Relations, and Data Integrations will serve as a pivotal leader, responsible for the strategic oversight and operational excellence of employee benefits, labor relations, and data integrations. This position reports to the Director, Global Benefits, Hourly Compensation & Labor Relations. This individual will ensure the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive benefits programs, foster productive labor-management relations, and integrate critical HR data streams to enhance organizational decision-making. This role has direct reports, will coordinate cross-functionally, and serve as a leader and mentor to immediate team members.
This highly visible role works cross-functionally with executive leadership, Labor, HR, IT, Legal, Purchasing, Tax, UAW International Benefits department, and external vendors, driving initiatives that impact business outcomes and employee benefits. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of deep subject matter expertise, analytic rigor, collaborative spirit, and the ability to execute in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- U.S. Benefits Strategy and Administration
- Develop Benefits Labor Strategy in support of business goals
- Lead team responsible vendor selection, negotiation, and management processes, maintaining strong partnerships and accountability for service quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor regulatory changes (ACA, ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA, COBRA, and state-specific requirements), ensuring programs and documentation always maintain full compliance.
- Address escalated employee issues and appeals.
Labor Relations
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives, promoting collaboration, trust, and productive problem-solving.
- Lead and support bargaining strategy, collective bargaining negotiations, and contract interpretation.
- Provide training and guidance to HR Business Partners and managers on labor agreements, employee rights, and best practices in labor relations.
- Conduct investigations, draft responses, and ensure thorough documentation of labor issues.
Leadership, Collaboration, and Communication
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of benefits and labor relations professionals; foster a culture of service, learning, and accountability.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives on benefits strategy, labor relations, and data analytics, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration on strategic projects, M&A activity, and integrations, ensuring alignment of people strategy with business objectives.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of benefits strategy & administration, labor relations, and employee communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Data Analytics, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (CEBS, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years focused in benefits, labor relations, and HR data management.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating labor contracts and managing union relationships in a multi-site organization.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employee benefits regulations, programs, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRTO, benefits administration systems, and data integration tools; advanced Excel/data analysis skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
