Overview
The Lead Valet Driver will run high-traffic operation across a group of valet drives on campus. The Lead will include coaching, setting the lineup, and keeping wait times low. You will work with other Leads and on-site management to keep the entire campus running smoothly. This will include moving cars and keeping a safe work environment
Pay: $21.22/hr *Weekly Pay
Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am to 430p
Key Roles / Job Responsiblities: - Work as one team: partner with fellow Lead Valets and site management to balance staffing, share resources, and solve problems across all 8 drivers.
- Shift huddles & handoffs: join quick start-of-shift huddles, share priorities, and give clean handoffs so each drive knows the plan.
- Surge support: redeploy people during peaks, cover call-outs, and float to hot spots when another drivers need help.
- Shared standards: keep the same playbook across drives for traffic flow, key control, incident steps, and guest recovery.
- Clear communication: use radio/message channels with brief, plain updates so everyone understands the plan.
- Keep traffic moving: set cones/signs, direct vehicles and valet attendants, and jump in to park or retrieve during rush periods.
- Run the shift: assign posts, build a simple break plan, update the lineup when needs change, and hand off cleanly at end of shift.
- Coach on the spot: model the standard, spot-train new hires and Leads, and give quick feedback that sticks.
- Protect guests and vehicles: follow key control, walk-around checks, speed limits, and parking guidelines every time.
- Handle issues fast: resolve guest concerns, perform quick service recovery, and escalate to your manager when needed.
- Keep things organized: maintain a tidy driveway, staging area, and podium; perform ticket and key checks regularly and precisely
- Document the day: record incidents before end of shift, note equipment needs, and submit simple daily reports.
- Campus assist: respond to help calls from other drives and coordinate with Lead Valets to restore normal flow.
Successful Goals:
- Clear driveways and short wait times during peaks across your drive and any drive you support
- Zero lost keys or unsecured vehicles; accurate logs at closeout
- Posts covered on time with breaks that don’t create gaps
- Consistent standards across drives, with fast support to any area under pressure
- Guide and encourage lower level staff to ensure engagement and maintain a high level of performance
Qualifications:
- 18 or older, valid driver’s license, and a driving record that can be insured
- Able to jog short distances and lift 25–50 lbs (luggage, cones, equipment)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather with company-provided gear
- Can use a smartphone, two-way radio, and basic apps for schedules and logs
- Willing to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valet, parking, hospitality, or shift-lead experience
- Familiarity with scheduling or time/attendance tools
- College degree, especially in Hospitality or a related field
ABM Healthcare Supported Services required testing
- 10 panel drug screen for controlled substances
- Physical examination – must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- MMR titer
- Hepatitis B vaccine series or signed declination
- Flu shot (October 1 through April 30)
- PPD skin test (2-step)
- History of chicken pox or Varicella vaccines shot
