Who we’re looking for:
Toyota Financial Services Cloud Engineering team is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Lead Cloud Engineer to be the cornerstone of our cloud engineering efforts. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our modern, automated cloud environment that powers innovative services and technologies. Reporting to the Cloud Engineering Manager, you will drive excellence by setting technical standards and mentoring the team to uphold Toyota’s cloud engineering best practices and standards.
What you’ll be doing:
Imagine leading a team where your expertise shapes the future of cloud technology at Toyota Financial Services. Your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful, balancing hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to ensure our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cutting-edge. Success means delivering robust cloud solutions that accelerate business goals while fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
Own the role of principal cloud engineering expert, setting the gold standard for design, automation, and operations across the team.
Architect, build, and maintain a modern cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools that enable rapid deployment of new services.
Define and enforce technical standards including coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security protocols to ensure reliability and compliance.
Lead proof-of-concept projects to evaluate emerging cloud technologies and bring innovative ideas from the industry into production.
Provide thought leadership in DevOps, cloud automation, software engineering, and talent development, mentoring engineers and promoting Agile best practices.
Drive continuous improvement by documenting designs, best practices, and architectural decisions clearly and professionally.
Collaborate cross-functionally to align cloud engineering efforts with business objectives and operational excellence.
What you bring:
We’re looking for a seasoned cloud engineering professional with a strong foundation in DevOps and software development, ready to lead and innovate.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience providing a solid foundation in software engineering or related fields.
5+ years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering cloud solutions.
5+ years of software development experience, comfortable with scripting and automation.
3+ years in a senior DevOps or cloud engineering role, demonstrating leadership and technical expertise.
Expertise with Terraform, CDK, OpenTofu, and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
Proficient in Python, Bash scripting, Ansible, Helm, and automation frameworks.
Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services including networking, EKS/ECS, WAF, Lambda, API Gateway, and IAM.
Experience implementing security standards, disaster recovery, high availability, and reliability engineering best practices.

Experience with CDK in Python or Typescript.
Familiarity with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCP), and AWS Config.
Software development experience in Java, Go, JavaScript, or front-end/back-end technologies.
AWS or other cloud certifications that validate your expertise.
