Where is the work:
This is an on-site position located at the Trane Technologies headquarters in Davidson, NC.
Job Summary:
The HVAC Lab Technician II plays a pivotal role in testing new products including agency compliance and continuous improvement. By leveraging their expertise in troubleshooting commercial HVAC products and collaborating across the engineering department, they help bring our new products to market.
This Tech II will train on first shift (Monday-Friday) and transition to an Evening shift in 2026. Typical evening shift hours are 1pm - 11:30pm (Monday-Thursday) in a 4-10 work week to support work-life balance.
What you will do:
Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
Support product development activities by operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting experimental test data, with modest guidance from senior laboratory staff
Lead or assist with installation, modification, and build of developmental commercial HVAC equipment and components, following engineering, agency, and test requirements
Work with Test Engineering and other technicians to install and utilize laboratory test equipment including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, pressure, and temperature measurement devices
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and components related to the Trane Technologies family of products.
What you will bring:
Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles
Associate’s Degree in HVAC (or related technical discipline) and at least 3-years of relevant HVAC work experience is required; OR at least 6-years of relevant HVAC work experience is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified
Compensation:
Annual Pay Range:$39,000 - $84,100 USD. Disclaimer: This pay range is based on US national averages. Actual pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
