About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a highly experienced candidate to lead the Credit Loan Closing team, responsible for managing the settlement process of a portfolio of par and distressed trades on credit products such as loans, bonds, reorganized equity, and claims.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale credit servicing platforms and driving automation initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills, regulatory expertise, and the ability to deliver scalable, risk-controlled processes.
In this role, you will:- Manage and develop teams of securities loan trading closer professionals to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives
- Effectively manage a portfolio of par and distressed trades on credit products including loans, bonds, reorganized equity, and claims.
- Successfully monitor the flow of trades from trade date to settle date including preparing, reviewing, and confirming required documentation within the guidelines of The Loan Syndications and Trading Association
- Identify and recommend opportunities for managing a portfolio of par and distressed trades on credit products, including loans, bonds, reorganized equity, and claims
- Work closely with Traders, Sales, and Strategy to identify and understand the specifics of the loans traded. Including: Confirm desk positions, monitor exposures of counterparty credit limits, and verify KYC/AML/Tax onboarding requirements for all customers
- Create and maintain relationships with trading counterparts, external legal counsel, administrative agents, and many Wells Fargo support partners
- Strengthen regulatory controls and process automation initiatives in high-volume credit environments.
Required Qualifications:- 6+ years of securities loan trading closers experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:- 10+ years leading teams in syndicated loan operations and/or distressed credit
- Proven success at managing large-scale credit servicing platforms
- Experience in pre and post trade settlement processes and servicing CLO Portfolios and/or familiarity with Total Return Swaps on Loans
- Expertise in regulatory reporting, team leadership, and delivery of scalable, risk-controlled processes
- Proficiency in LoanIQ, ClearPar, SyndTrak, and other relevant systems
- Candidate needs to be self-motivated and possess exceptional communication skills
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Candidate needs to possess knowledge of the loan market specifically the settlement process including closing procedures and documentation.
- Candidate should possess and display strong customer focus and client service skills
- Candidate needs to be organized, affable, and able to work in a collegial, team-oriented environment
- Candidate must be able to multi-task and handle stressed situations
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team building and retention initiatives
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Job Expectations:- Ability to travel up to 10% or as needed
- Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
