Engineering Technician III

KBR is seeking an Engineering Technician III to join our team supporting the Navy at Webster Field in St. Inigoes, Maryland. In this role, you will play a key part in the integration, testing, evaluation, installation, maintenance, and configuration of Area Control Systems (ACS) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems. Working closely with KBR’s ACS Hardware team and government representatives, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of critical mission systems. This position offers the opportunity to apply engineering principles in a hands-on technical environment while supporting the broader mission of national defense. We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to take ownership of technical challenges.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install, integrate, test, and evaluate ACS and ATC system hardware and components.
- Perform routine to moderately complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks following documented processes.
- Configure system components including computers, switches, routers, firewalls, and related hardware.
- Assemble and install equipment, parts, and supporting hardware as required.
- Perform network cabling and ensure proper connectivity across system components.
- Conduct equipment and system testing by following established test procedures.
- Collaborate daily with KBR team members and Navy customer representatives to ensure successful operations.
- Support field activities and travel up to 25% to perform system work at customer locations.
Basic Qualifications
- Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 3–5 years of technical experience as an engineering technician or in a related technical role.
- Certification(s): Security+ certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- Experience with the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) or other ATC platforms.
- Previous experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense technical systems.
Compensation: $28.79/HR. This is an SCA Position.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
