Job Description Summary
The Engineer – Materials Science and Engineering provides materials and process (M&P) definition,
qualification, and lifecycle support of engine hardware and systems that satisfy engine program
requirements consistent with manufacturing and inspection capabilities. In this role, you will work with design and supply chain partners to achieve business objectives and ensure safety as it relates to assigned hardware.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
- Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
- Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college.
- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
- Active US DOD Security Clearance must be held and maintained for this position.
- Work or research experience in Metallic Materials, Polymer Matrix Composite Materials, Ceramic Matrix Composite Materials, or Coatings
- Master of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering position
- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- PC proficiency
- Ability to work in a team environment
