Leidos' Chief Information Office (CIO), within the Digital Modernization Sector, has an opening for a Software Analyst to join our CIO Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical and analytical skills, as well as your hands-on experience in ServiceNow Software SAM Pro to join our Software Asset Management team. This role is responsible for the lifecycle management of software assets, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and accurate software entitlement data using the ServiceNow SAM Pro platform.
Location: Work will be performed at our Reston, VA Headquarters office with occasional telework from a commutable location to Reston.
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Administer and configure ServiceNow SAM Pro to enable accurate software installation discovery, ensure license compliance, and support end-to-end asset lifecycle management
Create, manage, and maintain software entitlements, including accurate license models, ensuring proper license distribution , and terms of use, in relation to ServiceNow managed contracts.
Perform software license reconciliation to compare entitlements against deployments and usage.
Monitor software consumption and identify opportunities for license optimization and cost savings.
Ensure data integrity by managing integrations with discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, Intune, Nexthink); proactively identify, analyze, and resolve defects through root cause analysis and continuous monitoring.
Facilitate internal and external audits by delivering precise entitlement, deployment, and usage data through validated asset records and system reporting.
Collaborate with ServiceNow developers, leveraging knowledge of the SDLC to define requirements, conduct user acceptance testing, analyze system behavior, and troubleshoot defects.
Assist in driving continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending areas to gain efficiency through system automation.
Create reports and dashboards to provide visibility into compliance, usage, and optimization opportunities and present to leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or a related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Asset Management, with at least 2 years specifically using ServiceNow SAM Pro
Outstanding communication and analytical skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas)
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
ServiceNow Certifications and/or Training
IAITAM Certifications
Experience with cloud/SaaS license management (Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, AWS, etc.)
Knowledge of complex licensing models – Oracle and Microsoft
Experience supporting internal or external license audits
Understanding of CMDB and its relationship to software entitlements
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 19770

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
