Job Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a variety of equipment and systems. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Service Technician will work both independently and as part of a team, often traveling to customer sites to perform services.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Setup:
Install and configure new equipment and systems according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements. Ensure proper functioning of equipment through testing and calibration.
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, identifying the root cause of problems.Repair or replace defective parts and components to restore equipment functionality.
Customer Support:
Provide technical support and guidance to customers, addressing their questions and concerns.Educate customers on proper equipment usage and maintenance practices.Maintain positive relationships with customers through professional and courteous interactions.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for internal and customer use.Keep inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for service tasks.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar role.
Strong technical and mechanical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment.
Proficiency with tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair tasks.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
