The Role:
The Operations and Business Planning Analyst plays a vital role in driving process efficiency and operational effectiveness across GM North America (GMNA) Order Fulfillment (OF). This position serves as a strategic liaison between OF leadership and global business stakeholders, helping to align cross-functional efforts with overarching business goals.
By translating strategy into actionable initiatives, the Analyst delivers measurable value through enhanced planning, streamlined processes, and informed decision-making. The role requires a high degree of independence, working under the direction of the Director of Order Fulfillment and in close coordination with other OF leaders.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
Business Operations & Leadership Support
- Assist Order Fulfillment (OF) leadership in coordinating business operations, including staff meetings, process oversight, executive communications, and special initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize operational data to support effective decision-making.
- Develop and distribute key reports, dashboards, and leadership presentations.
Process Ownership & Coordination
- Serve as the GlobalConnect Author, managing all messaging and communication through the platform.
- Own and execute the Month-End Inventory Purification Reporting process.
- Oversee Supplier Onboarding, Offboarding, and Sponsorship activities.
- Manage critical Business Control Processes, including:
- Information Lifecycle Management (ILM): Lead the annual ILM review, maintain the Record Identification Matrix, and ensure organizational compliance.
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP): Lead annual BCP activities to ensure operational readiness.
Operational Issue Resolution
- Manage the Damaged-in-Transit Replacement Allocation Eligibility process.
- Act as the primary liaison for In-Plant Damaged Vehicle resolution, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Financial and Administrative Support including Special Projects
- Assist with the OF budgeting process, including tracking, forecasting, and reporting of departmental expenses.
- Lead or contribute to a variety of strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by OF leadership.
- Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with GM procurement guidelines.
Project and Process Improvement
- Support the development and execution of the OF project roadmap.
- Help prioritize initiatives, define stakeholder requirements, and monitor progress toward project completion.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
Systems and Compliance Management
- Administer and maintain the team’s SharePoint Online site structure and content.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with corporate training requirements across all OF personnel.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management or a related field required.
- 2–4+ years of experience in business operations, planning, or a related area—preferably within a large, matrixed, and/or global organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated proficiency and confidence presenting to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership.
- Skilled in creating, preparing, and distributing reports, with the ability to tailor both verbal and written communication to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to work independently while also building and maintaining strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Track record of ownership in process management, coordination, and operational issue resolution.
- Experienced in planning and coordination, capable of managing multiple complex initiatives under tight timelines.
- Strong attention to detail, with advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data, uncover trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex or non-standard challenges.
- Adaptable and effective in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with the flexibility to shift priorities as business needs evolve.
- Technical Proficiency
- Data analysis, pivot tables, charts, and reporting
- Development of executive-level presentations
