Amentum Secure Network Solutions is looking for a Junior IT/Networking Engineer to support client-based programs teams in the Washington Metro Area. As a Junior IT/Networking Engineer at Amentum, you will work closely with engineering teams to develop, architect, and provide IT and engineering services to maximize the quality of contract deliverables, and to support the development of emerging technical projects. This role requires a wide range of technical skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex technical challenges across IT disciplines (including networking, services, hardware, software, and Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) systems). Your work will support engineering projects and ensure all deliverables adhere to industry standards and company guidelines.
Utilize tools such as VMware ESXi, NetEdit, Cisco ISE, and SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring and configuration.
Bachelor’s degree in technical subjects such as Engineering, IT, STEM, related field, or equivalent experience
Routing, switching, TCP/UDP, VLAN, VPN, high-availability, redundancy
Network services: DNS, DHCP, VoIP, NTP, SMTP
Status monitoring: SNMP, traps, OIDs, MIBs (e.g., SolarWinds)
Edge network transport: Satcom (GEO, LEO, GPS, VSAT, RF), Cellular (SIMs, APN), SD-WAN
Data center environment management: Power, cabling, UPS, PDU, airflow, alerting
