MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented
IT Systems Administrator / Software Engineer to join our team in
Lompoc, CA. In this role, you will support mission-critical software systems and virtual environments, focusing on integration, troubleshooting, and system administration in support of national security space operations. You will also help enhance software documentation and database management aligned with government and security standards.
Requires knowledge and experience with the Microsoft suite of Office productivity and development applications, such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Microsoft Power Platform products, such as Power APPS, Power BI, and Power Automate, and administration and deployment of Microsoft server and workstation operating systems.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Support mission-assurance and launch-verification software by evaluating and updating integrated data environments, software documentation (e.g., SRS, SSD, User Manuals), and ensuring compliance with RMF and USG standards.
- Administer and maintain USG-provided laptops and virtual servers; troubleshoot operational issues, apply patches and NOTAMs, and assist with inventory accuracy and system readiness.
- Conduct system-level evaluations and updates of SLD 30 mission assurance data systems (e.g., LCDB, LVDB), including generating software implementation plans, security guides, and database management plans.
- Perform SQL server configuration, database engineering, and programming to support satellite and booster operations, launch preparations, and anomaly resolution.
- Develop real-time software solutions and dashboards for Operational Mission Data using DoD-approved environments (e.g., Platform One), with emphasis on status reporting and data visualization.
- Utilize Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) to support program management, including creating workflows, designing dashboards, managing permissions, and mentoring stakeholders on usage best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and leadership to align JIRA/Confluence features with mission needs, develop integrations, and support DevSecOps coordination and communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
- 2+ years as a Software Engineer, programmer or software developer, with at least 1 year of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, or NASA experience.
Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
