Job Summary and Qualifications
The Vice President of Shared Services for Hospital Based Services (HBS) will provide oversight and leadership of all shared services operations supporting hospital-based medicine, including service delivery, operational effectiveness, business process review, continuous improvement activities, technology strategy, and staff coaching and development. This position will collaborate with Sr. executive leaders of the service lines as well as hospital leaders and medical directors across the enterprise to ensure Shared Services provides efficient and effective support for credentialing, scheduling, contracting, and provider compensation strategy, aligning with the ongoing needs of the business and high-quality patient care.
Major Responsibilities:
· Ensure the shared service organization executes on its strategic projects and serves as the single point of accountability for decision-making and escalations related to hospital-based medicine services.
· Design, implement, and refine processes and workflows to enhance the customer experience for hospital-based providers and deliver a top-notch experience for our team.
· Create and execute on service levels ensuring they are met and/or exceeded, and all operational metrics for hospital-based medicine shared services are trending positive.
· Assess, develop, and monitor the application of customer service and/or transaction processing skills by our employees, recommending and securing appropriate training concepts through internal or external means.
· Maintain effective vendor relationships related to credentialing, scheduling, and compensation platforms, holding them accountable to contractual delivery
· Build, communicate, and continuously refine a vision and strategy for how we efficiently deliver hospital-based medicine shared services and build loyalty for our services.
· Identify, recommend, and advocate for process and technology improvements to standardize and improve how we engage with our customers through engagements with IT and other relevant partnerships.
· Build a people-focused culture of high-performance, customer-focus, and continuous improvement through a compassionate, energetic, empathetic, and transparent leadership style.
· Analyze data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and to provide thoughtful and strategic insight to hospital leaders and medical directors.
· Be a strong financial steward of and maintain budgets across the organization for hospital-based medicine shared services.
· Oversee and manage all aspects of provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes for hospital-based medicine services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., JCAHO).
· Develop, implement, and optimize provider scheduling processes to ensure adequate coverage, operational efficiency, and provider satisfaction across hospital-based medicine services.
· Lead the development and execution of provider compensation strategies for hospital-based medicine services, ensuring competitive, fair, and fiscally responsible models that align with organizational goals and attract top talent.
· Proactively remove risks and impediments to project success, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved at the executive level as needed, particularly concerning credentialing, scheduling, and compensation.
· Drive operational excellence by improving processes, optimizing workflows, and fostering collaboration between shared services and hospital-based medicine teams.
· Clearly define and document critical decision-making processes and escalation paths to ensure continuity of operations, especially during periods of absence.
· Establish and regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreement (SLA) adherence for all shared services functions, providing measurable benchmarks for performance assessment.
· Ensure robust and compliant processes for provider credentialing and re-credentialing are in place and consistently followed, minimizing risk and ensuring regulatory adherence.
· Implement and oversee efficient and equitable provider scheduling systems that optimize resource utilization and support consistent patient care.
· Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate provider compensation models to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with financial objectives.
· Actively identify, mitigate, and resolve operational risks and bottlenecks across all shared services, with a focus on maintaining uninterrupted service delivery.
· Manage and track financial performance against established budgets for all shared services, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost-effectiveness.
· Cultivate and manage strong relationships with all critical external vendors, ensuring contractual obligations are met and service quality is maintained.
· Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
· Bachelors degree, Required
· Masters degree or advanced degree (e.g., MHA, MBA) Preferred
· 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations leadership, shared services operational leadership, hospital based services, with 7+ years of direct managerial experience. Required
