Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager for Custodial Operations ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and service delivery across all campus facilities. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections, managing performance metrics, and collaborating with custodial teams to maintain a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Compliance
- Develop and maintain custodial quality assurance protocols aligned with university standards and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of academic buildings, residence halls, athletic facilities, and administrative spaces.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Performance Monitoring
- Track and analyze custodial performance metrics (e.g., cleanliness scores, response times, customer satisfaction).
- Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and training needs.
Training & Development
- Collaborate with custodial supervisors to deliver ongoing training programs focused on cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Customer Service & Communication
- Serve as a liaison between custodial teams and campus stakeholders to address service concerns and feedback.
- Develop and distribute reports and dashboards to leadership on custodial performance.
Process Improvement
- Recommend and implement process enhancements, including new technologies, cleaning products, and equipment.
- Lead pilot programs and evaluate outcomes for scalability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in custodial operations or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a quality assurance or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of custodial standards, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in inspection software, work order systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a higher education or large institutional setting.
- Familiarity with APPA standards and LEED cleaning practices.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
