Role Definition
As Process- Piping Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the Engineering & Design of Solar Turbine’s Construction Services’ Products. You will involve in the design of the Oil & Gas Projects such as Gas Compression stations project, you will demonstrate designing, implementing, and maintaining Process-Piping systems within the Oil & Gas industry
The identified candidate will be a member of a cross-functional team that Involves in FEED, Detail engineering, Procurement, inhouse Fabrication and Commissioning activities and ensues all performance metrics are achieved
Responsibilities
The candidate should possess a minimum of 12-15 years of industry experience in engineering / design execution and associated applications. Experience should include significant, demonstrated results leading Process-Piping design efforts supporting industrial gas turbine packaging and associated gas compression and power generation projects and BOP systems engineering and design.
We are looking for an experienced Process-Piping Engineer with a strong background in process simulation, flare system design, and hydraulic studies for Oil & Gas or EPC projects.
- Develop New PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, and Process Safety Diagrams and review
- Conduct process simulations, mass & heat balance using Aspen HYSYS, Flow Master, Simulink and equipment sizing to develop optimal process designs.
- Perform control valve sizing, pump sizing/design, and critical hydraulic checks
- Design and simulate flare systems, including blowdown/depressurization and stack sizing using Aspen FlareNet
- Prepare/review data sheets and specifications for equipment, instruments, and piping
- Support development of Process Design Basis / Project Safety Philosophies control/ESD philosophies, trip logic, and Cause & Effect diagrams
- Conduct inter-discipline checks (IDC) with layout, piping, and electrical teams
- Participate in cost estimation, material requests, and engineering documentation reviews
- Perform process safety studies, including HAZOP, SIL, and PHA, to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead process engineering design activities for Energy and Industrial projects, from Basic, FEED to detailed engineering.
- Responsible for ensuring quality technical design delivery output, technical governance and quality and coordination and interface within a multi discipline project team
- Provide technical support and guidance to multidisciplinary project teams, including mechanical engineers, piping engineers, and instrumentation engineers.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Lead process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of existing operations.
- Preparing and evaluating bid and purchase specifications for process and clean utility equipment’s.
- Calculating and organizing data and interfacing with other disciplines, such as piping, mechanical, instrument data for I&C or electrical loadings, HSE, HVAC etc
- Knowledge of Piping design Codes and Standards such as ASME B 31.3 & B 31.8
- Line Sizing, Thickness Calculation, Pressure drop calculation Equipment sizing, Calculation.
- Preparation of Line List, Valve List, Equipment List, Piping Material Specification.
- Pipe Routing, Equipment Modelling using Autodesk Plant 3D.
- Pipe Stress Analysis using CAESAR II Software.
- Preparation MTO, BOM from Piping 3D Models.
- Flexible and quick to learn global developments in EPC- Oil & Gas projects technologies and adopt.
- Continuous improvement of the design activity in terms of technical knowledge, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Provide virtual technical support for shop floor for the orders engineered & commissioning support.
- The lead is responsible for over-seeing and guiding the team to ensure productivity, efficiency & quality in daily operations.
- Co-ordinating design activities with multi-disciplinary team.
- Responsible for the Review of all the deliverables, timely delivery with highest Quality.
- Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Required Skills & Tools:
- Software: Aspen HYSYS, Aspen FlareNet, Flow Master, Simulink HTRI, PipeNet (Standard & Transient)
- Strong understanding of API/ASME standards for process safety
- Proficiency in hydraulic and surge analysis for long-distance pipelines
- Knowledge of pump and heat exchanger design
- Working experience with 3D Design Tools: AutoCad Plant 3D. E3D, CAESAR II , Navis Works Manage.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor of Mechanical/Chemical Engineering from accredited Engineering Institute.
